My ex used to give me the silent treatment even when I did nothing. And I kept texting him like some crazy person. I felt like shit. Its been 4 years since its over and I still get nightmares about him and people ignoring me while I am begging for help. I cry and wail in my sleep. Sometimes I wake up and actually find tears in my eyes. I wish no one had to go through all this shit.

Amen to that brother !!! First thing she said out her mouth, she criticized you and then says you want something to eat.... don't fall for the bait. Ignore her period ..you gave her so much of your vulnerability she uses it and melts it down to bullets against you....never tell a woman your thoughts.. when she asks you for your opinion don't tell her. What you should say. (It doesn't matter what I think your going to do it anyway) be free my brother's be free. Don't be a rescuer....

I relate to every single “symptom” you mention here. As a child I had been diagnosed with PTSD. At the age of 38 I was newly diagnosed with CPTSD due to the horrific trauma I had experienced as an adult. Specifically regarding the abuse and loss I had suffered. I know that I know what to do. I just am seriously struggling with letting go because than I feel like I have failed everything and everyone. I’m losing everything ( my family, my home, my independence…..) But I’m still stuck.

I chucked him first cos I know about narcs. I can't say it was easy though. They're so damn charming. I imagine it was a huge shock to him but I don't know, cos I blocked him.

They don't hope for anything. They don't care. At most, in a moment of boredom, they'll wonder if you still want them and will attempt to confirm it. To remember that they are still winning. That's it. These people are emotionless psychopaths.

So they are always projecting and trying to externalise whatever negative emotion they are feeling. Whatever emotion you have after reacting to their abuse emotionally is their emotions transferred to you!

Emotional withdrawal or the silent treatment is a favourite method to punish you. They are constantly starving you of emotion. That lack is the most horrible as a child because you don't see the lack. You don't know differently. You just feel the constant void and seek ways to fill it in different ways.

My lightbulb moment came after years of marriage therapy alone.. Finally looked up videos about wife won’t talk to me and my heart sank. I remembered her dad and sister joking about being narcissists a long time ago but I always just thought it was someone just stuck up or something. It’s so much deeper and the further away I get the deeper down I see. They can’t change 😢

I'm hitting rock bottom today I got nothing left to offer her and I still sound like it's all about her typical victim but it really was the last one 30 years. I don't think there's an ounce of me left. Strange how we can listen to all this and yet we still go through the motions and still end up in the same place in the end like it if it were my choice and it really is. I am an infj. Are situation was unique with a kid on life support hit by a car. But in the end it's still turned out to be the same a victim with nothing left.. there's just no preparation for anything like this.

People pleasers and "givers" aren't any less worthy than anyone else. It's a perfectly healthy and fulfilling mindset and a relationship with someone who wants to encourage that is also completely wholesome and healthy. Don't deny what you want, even if someone covertly communicates that you're "of less worth" if you don't

It's easy to protect yourself from any narcissist. When his actions, don't match his words. Runnnnnn. A genuine person will always keep his/her words and speak the truth. Don't give these Narcs fancy names. Call them DEMONS 👻

They only have empathy for themselves, when they hurt you they behave like you hurt them, they switch roles with you, take credit for being you, treat you like you are them

Thought I had an inner ear thing and some sort of sinus stuff, went to the ENT and found out I’m perfectly healthy. Perfect hearing, clean ears with perfect pressure, airways good. All of it green. The doc took the time to ask about my stressors and I broke down. I didn’t want to tell him about my home life. She’s killing me, actually making it harder to breathe. She says she doesn’t do it on purpose, but there’s no way it’s not. I’ve been meeting people. Going out in public and actually being seen. People are excited to talk to me!! It’s so awesome. Every single time I come home I feel like I’ve been drained and ran over. But I’ll be out soon. I’m so ready.

So much of this narcissistic abuse in the workplace, corporations and some government agencies, these are havens for narcissists. Grandiosity and lack of empathy are rewarded. A lot of this is Acquired Narcissism in which individuals become seduced by the trappings that come along with career "success" or possibly a dusfunctional parent organization

Apologizing for every damn thing - including breathing. That's my tell. That's how people know something happened to me.

Yep they scramble your brains like eggs. They use their expertise to confuse a victim. They act like a calm librarian and come off very competent. They are! They are confident that they'll abuse you and they are competent enough to confuse and steal from you explaining that the heist is all your own fault. You still wondering What heist? The financial loss they've set up for you! Oh yeah I need to tell you how premeditated they are

Mid range covert narc - my own Mom

My narc sis had convinced me that I was the problem. I was so completely mixed up that I compulsively "confessed" to everyone, even strangers, that I was a horrible sister. I was hanging out with my sis and her friends a lot. Her friends had their own problems, but fortunately none of them were flying monkeys, and they had gotten to know me quite well, and they liked me. On 3 separate occasions I confessed to 3 of sis's friends that I was a terrible sister. One by one they insisted I had it exactly backwards. I didn't believe the 1st one and I argued with her, insisting I was really a bad sister. I didn't believe the 2nd one either, but doubts about my confession were starting to sink in just a little. By the time the 3rd one set me straight I knew I had to rethink my own guilt. Those 3 precious women saved my life. I realized that I only believed them because they were my sister's friends. If they had been MY friends I would have thought, "sure, you're gonna take my side, because you're MY friends." So my sis's friends were more convincing than my own friends. Then the horror of my own self-betrayal hit me very hard. And the clumsy work of forgiving myself, and deprogramming myself, started. And I grey-rocked sis. It was clumsy work because neither I nor my therapist knew anything about narcissism. That was 23 years ago. But only 3.5 years ago I first learned about narcissism from a Dr Ramani video, and that led to me finding Michele, Tamie M Joyce, Dr Les Carter, Jerry Wise, and a few others. I listened to a few videos every day while taking notes, and studying my notes, and journaling to myself. And that has speeded up my healing LOTS, thank goodness! 🤗

at first i thought they became a narc because of how they were raised (poor childhood condition etc), but recently we met more narc who were a single child from rich families. even one of my child has narc tendencies. one thing they have in common, they are afraid of the sun, always hiding at home. sun is needed for healthy mind. go walk during morning and late afternoon sun. research had found sun UV could heal dementia, sunshine is very important to our body.
